Jydsk-Fyenske Jernbaner / Jysk-Fyenske Jernbaner 0-4-0 Locomotives in Denmark

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class M (Locobase 3993)

Data from WilliamBay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Class information from [link]. Works numbers were 123-124 in 1874 and 141-142 in 1875.

These tanks were based on the earlier O class, but purchased from a British builder. They served the JFJ until that railway was joined with others (including the SJS) in the Danish State Railway system in 1893. They continued in shunting service until retirement and scrapping, the first (M 60) in 1923, followed by M 82 (1933), M 59 (1935), and M 83 (1937).

Class OL (Locobase 3991)

Data from WilliamBay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). See also the description of these little port switchers [link]
