Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class N (I) (Locobase 4001)

Data from WilliamBay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Class data from [link].

Produced as a batch, the class histories divided evenly between those that were withdrawn and scrapped by the DSB (N 97-N 98, N 101) in the decade after World War One and those that were sold to West Jutland (Vestjyllands Mergelforsyning) as their Numbers 1-3 (N 102, N 100, and N 99, respectively).

Of the VMFS engines, Number 1 was scrapped 1934 and Number 3 was sold to Dansk Kedelindustri (Danish Boiler) in 1940 and withdrawn a year later, VMFS survived the longest, being sold to Klsbygaard mergelleje in 1939 and continuing in their service until 1953.
