Data from William Bay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Upgrade information from [link].

Gregersen says that the entire class received a full makeover in the 1920s. This included a new boiler pressed to 12 Atm, superheater, larger smokebox with new door, and a new regulator in the dome. The tender's water capacity increased as well. The schedule of updates was:

Year Road numbers

1921 3, 5-8

1924 1-2, 9

1925 11-12

1926 4, 10, 15-16, 18

1927 13-14, 17, 20

These were handy locomotives for light passenger duty and most carried on after World War II despite the significant inroads being made by railbuses. Five -- 15, 6, 10, 18, and 4 ---were retired in the 1930s, 6 being withdrawn in 1937 after hitting a truck. The next to leave was #9 in 1950, followed by three in 1951 (11, 16, 20), four in 1952 (2, 3, 5, 7-8), one in 1953 (12), and the last four in 1954 (13, 14, 17, 19).
