Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 39, p. 219 and Vol 44, p. 242. Works numbers were 37064 in October 1911 and 38478 in October 1912.
The Bartram Brothers owned several large sugar plantations in the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo, as it was then known) of which the Santa Fe was one of the smaller. The American company bought Baldwin locomotives for several of those plantations and these Moguls (7 was named La Balsa) were of typical size and power.
The specs describe a lightly built line of 30 lb/yard (15 kg/metre) rail curving to radii as tight as 85 feet (25.9 metres) and climbing 3% grades.
