Mex Harbour 0-4-2 Locomotives in Egypt

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 10455)

Data from "The Egyptian Government Railways and Locomotives," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol X (15 July 1904), p. 112. Works numbers included 1665-1786, 1788-1797, 1940.

Two of the three dock tanks went to the Egyptian State Railways some time later. The LM history says they were built by Beyer, Peacock but Locobase cannot find the order on the Beyer, Peacock lists at [link].

One of the locomotives moved on to be renumbered 407 and operate on the Soudan Railways and the other was retired to switch rolling stock at the carriage works at Boulac. A third saddle-tanker operated for the Cairo-Helouan Railway.
