Class 050 TD (Locobase 13352)

Data from diagram published on Les Trains de l'Histoire website at [link], last accessed 2 November 2011. See also diagram UG Type 182, Societe Alsacienne de Construction Mecaniques from SACM locomotive book supplied by Dany Machi up at [link] as

Diagrammes des machines SACM construites a GRAFENSTADEN (October 2007). SACM supplied the 50 engines in 1930-1931 (twenty of the class had works numbers 5611-5630), Cail added 20 in 1932.

Tall side tanks, five axles, hemispherical smokebox door, two long "bread loaf" domes (one steam, one sand), Belpaire firebox, curved-roof cab, boat-tail bunker combined to give the impression of stolid motivation. Suitable then for the role of hump engine or even short-haul freight transfer locomotive.
