Class 3 (Locobase 21266)

Data from Krupp im Dienst der Dampflokomotive (Essen, Germany: 1940), p 86. See also (in French) "LE SIEGE DE FAULQUEMONT DES H.B.L web site at [], last accessed 25 October 2025. Works number was 1444 in October 1935.

Locobase 21265 describes the Krupp eight-coupled tank delivered in 1932 to support construction of a large coal-mining complex for a company exploiting coal reserves in Lorraine.

Three years later, Krupp delivered this powerful five-axle version built to the same 16 metric ton axle loading requirement. The extra axle placed ahead of the other four meant a larger boiler set to a slightly lower pressure. Curve radii limitatioins may have dictated the over-square cylinder dimensions, which made available 59% more cylinder volume.
