SudTramways de Paris - St Mande' 0-4-0 Locomotives in France

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 8433)

Data from Daniel Kinnear Clark CE,Tramways - Their Construction and Working (London: Crosby, Lockwood & Co, 1878), pp. 388-390.

These were enlargements of the Sud Tramways supplied in 1876 (Locobase 8432) and served the Bastille-St Mande line. They were about half again as big as the Bastille-Gare Mont Parnasse engines. To dispell the exhaust steam, which otherwise would wreathe the streetcars with noxious fumes and vapor, the locomotive's steam was vented into a cold-water system that condensed it.
