Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 367 (Locobase 11289)

Data from August Perdonnet, Traite Elementaird des Chemins de Fer, Tome Second (Paris: Garnier Freres, , 1860), pp. 572-574; and "021 n° 367 à 380 puis 1 367 à 1 380 du PO" in WikiPO at [link], last accessed 23 June 2024.

This low-drivered design was designed by Polonceau. The valve motion lay all outside serving cylinders and valves between the frames. The cylinders were placed under the smokebox and the trailing axle behind the firebox.

In 1872, boiler and firebox areas changed so that the firebox area now measured 7.45 sq m (80.19 sq ft) and tube area increased to 87.65 sq m (943 sq ft), which amounted to 95.10 sq (1,024 sq ft) m in evaporative heating surface area.

23 years later in 1895, Cave of supplied new boilers now pressed to 10 kg/sq cm (9.7 bar) that offered less heating surface area than the original.

Surface de grille : 1,51 m2

Surface de chauffe :

7,19 sq m (77.39 sq ft)

75,01 sq m (807 sq ft)

82,20 sq m (885 sq ft).

Remarkably, three of the class still remained on the PO-Midi roster in 1934.
