Nord 0-6-2 Locomotives in France

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 3011 (Locobase 11275)

Data from Maurice Demoulin, Traite Pratique de la Machine Locomotive (Paris: Libraire Polytechnique, Baudry et Cie, 1898), p. 142.

Demoulin observes that placing a trailing axle on a Bissel truck under the firebox and bunker improved the stability of these engines, which were based on the 3001 0-6-0T and used the boiler of the well-known Mammouth 0-6-0 tender locomotives. These had a Belpaire firebox.
