Data from SACM diagram Type UG 169 from Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mecaniques from locomotive book supplied by Dany Machi up at [] as
Diagrammes des machines SACM construites a GRAFENSTADEN (October 2007). SACM's works numbers were 7466-7475, 7488-7497, 7512-7518, 7630-7649. See also [], last accessed 3 November 2013.
External tube and flue diameters were 55 and 138 mm, respectively. SACM was the lead locomotive firm and designed these Decapods. But the majority of the class came from Fives-Lille (107 engines) with SACM delivering 72 and Blanc-Misseron 16.
Some used a 3-jet PO-type blastpipe, others a six-jet setup. Although the lead truck enjoyed almost six inches (150 mm) of lateral play, the French Decapods differed from the German designs from which they were derived in having no lateral play in their driven axles. The third set of drivers hadn't any flanges while the second and fourth had shallower edges than usual.
