These were Patentees of a slightly later vintage than Le Dragon and her sisters (Locobase 16090). The other three locomotives were named Etna, MTdTe, and Vautour.

Works numbers were 23-24 in 1835, 26-28 in March 1836, 34 in February.
The engines--among the first Patentees to be delivered by British builders to a French design--were named Le Dragon, L'Oise, Saint-Germain, La Salamandre, Tayleur, and Watt.

They were the very first locomotives delivered from Schneider's works in Le Creusot. Compared to earlier St. Germain railway singles, this sextet had more heating surface area and boiler pressures were beginning to inch up as builders gained more confidence. 5 1/2-foot drivers indicated the design's passenger duties. A long clean-lined boiler showed only a small device ahead of a very tall stack and a tall safety-valve stand over the round-topped firebox.. But such extravagances as a weatherboard were still to come, let alone a roof.
