Paris-Sceaux

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Type 13/Florian (Locobase 20425)

Data from Schneider Catalogue, last accessed 27 August 2018 at [], pp. 8-9 . Works numbers were 29-32 in 1845.

Even though this quartet of Singles entered service four years later than the P-O's Type 4 (Locobase ), their boilers were heated by a haystack boiler that featured a semicircular cap. Outside frames used gentler curves to clear the taller drivers on both sides.

Reflecting an uncertainty about how locomotives should be guided around curves, small wheels on stalks that extended down to rail level to put small, nearly horizontal guide wheels ahead and behind each of the four unpowered wheels.

Locobase suspects that the Paris-Sceaux soon found the extra help unnecessary.
