Sud 4-4-0 Locomotives in France

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1701 (Locobase 3892)

Data taken from Edouard Sauvage, "Four-Cylinder Compound Locomotives in France", Railroad Gazette, Volume XXXII [32], No.39 (28 September 1900), pp.629-631 using information compiled through direct communications with the various designers.

Delivered at about the same time as the Nord 2.138 batch and resembled them very strongly.

Class 1775 (Locobase 3894)

Data taken from Edouard Sauvage, "Four-Cylinder Compound Locomotives in France", Railroad Gazette, Volume XXXII [32], No.39 (28 September 1900), pp.629-631 using information compiled through direct communications with the various designers. Based on the earlier 1751 class (Locobase 3893), but with higher boiler pressure. The table showed no data for the weights.

Class unknown (Locobase 3880)

Data from"The New Locomotive on the Southern Railroad of France", Railroad Gazette, Volume XXXII [32], No. 6 (23 February 1900), p. 114.as having recently gone into service.
