Data from "La locomotive Henschel 020+020T Systeme Mallet: Historique et caracteristiques", Train de la Doller handout offered at [], last accessed 21 November 2011. Works number was 10416 in 1911.
The Doller pamphlet tells us that this locomotive spent all of its "professional" [their quotes] life on the ABC pulling goods trains that served local industries that made the celebrated engraved glass. Its maximum speed was 60 kph (37.3 mph).
Later it was discovered (out of service - Locobase isn't sure) by the Association of Abreschwiller Forest Railways (l'association du chemin du fer foristier Abreschwiller) which operated the 2 until the line closed.
The Chemin de Fer Touristique de la Vallee de la Doller (CFTVD) bought the engine in 1990 and promised to renovate it. Over the next fifteen years, the organization fulfilled its promise. A new boiler holds the steam; it was welded rather than riveted. The refurbished engine made its first run in June 2005.
