Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 36 (Locobase 21098)

Data from "KFBE 36 und 37" in Wikipedia at [link], last accessed 17 October 2022. Works numbers were 6222 in 1936 and 8470 in 1939.

These engines were among the biggest and most powerful five-axle tank locomotives to enter service. The design featured one-piece cast-steel frames and a square cylinder/stroke ratio . Golsdorf axle boxes on the first and fifth axles reduced the fixed wheelbase to 2.85 m (9 ft 4 1/4 in). Among other accommodations to the tight curves of this kleinbahn included dividing coupling rods, one driving the first two, the other the latter three.
