Carl Ludwigs-bahn 0-4-2 Locomotives in Germany

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 13217)

Data from W H Maw and William Dredge, "Locomotives", Reports on the Vienna Universal Exhibition, Part II (London: George Eyre and William Spottiswoode, 1874), pp. 419-421.

The Dnieper display engine of this class of adhesion-leading passenger-express engine was one of 12 ordered in 1873 for this East Prussia line. Another 5 went into service in 1872 on the Cracow-Lemberg line. Maw and Dredge approved of both the design and the workmanship of this engine, which had the tallest drivers to have been put on this wheel arrangement at the time.
