Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Oschersleben/G 2 (Locobase 21059)

Data from "3/3 gek. Guterzug-Locomotive fur normal Spurweite-Magdeburg-Halberstadt", (Tegel bei Berlin, 1878), p. 20. Works numbers were 3619-3622 in January 1878, 3642-3646 in August, 3660-3664, 3666-3675 later in 1878, and 3681-3686 in 1879.

This set of six-coupled goods locomotives most likely served as the standard freight hauler on the MHE.

In 1879, nationalization pulled what had been one of the largest private railway companies into the Prussian State Railways. These MHE engines took a Prussian State designation that was assigned to the 1,621 locomotives inherited from a variety of predecessor lines.
