Bavarian State 0-6-0 Locomotives in Germany

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class C (Locobase 5957)

Data from Christian Lindecke's website [link] (visited 28 November 2003) (translated by Google).

These six-coupleds were built for the eastern Bavarian lines and were similar to the C IIIs in the western lines. Lindecke showed three weights, driver diameters, boiler pressures, and heating surface areas. Locobase took the last of each.

According to Lindecke, this class proved successful and was eventually classed C III. Of the 52, 38 received DRG class designations -- 53 7834-53 7868, demonstrating their longevity. By 1928, the class had been retired.
