Oberschlesischen Schmalspurbahnen 0-6-4 Locomotives in Germany

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class K35.6 / T36 (Locobase 8049)

Data from Christian Lindecke's [link] and from the Buntbahn site [link], both accessed 1 Jan 2007. See Doug Self's description of the Hagans oscillating-lever, all-adhesion system at [link]

This was a Schwinghebel-Lokomotive, a Hagans design in which the coupled axle were grouped under the boiler and the carrying axles in a swivelling bogie under the tender.

First to operate this class was the Upper Silesian system of narrow-gauge railway. The KPEV later gave the class its T36 designation. By the time the Rueger Kleinbahn owned one of the locomotives, it had had the linking-levers removed and its gauge changed to 750 mm.
