Class C II Achilles (Locobase 5952)

Data from Christian Lindecke's website [link] (visited 28 Nov 2003) (translated by Google).

The Herkules (Locobase 5951) had a 2-axle tender helping to support the boiler when it was introduced. This quartet -- Hektor, Achilles, Ajax, and Theseus -- had a longer tender serving the same purpose. Like the earlier locomotives, this quartet showed no substantial improvement in riding qualities and was converted to other arrangements, first 2-4-0 and ultimately 0-6-0. In that latter layout, they soldiered on until 1905.
