Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class D32/T5/T7 (Locobase 15589)

Data from diagram UG Type 151, Societe Alsacienne de Construction Mecaniques from SACM locomotive book supplied by Dany Machi up at [link] as

Diagrammes des machines SACM construites a GRAFENSTADEN (October 2007); and " Baureihe 73 125

Lokomotiven der Baureihe 73 125" on Albert Gieseler's Dampfmaschinen und Lokomotiven website at [link], last accessed 10 September 2024. Krauss-Munich delivered works numbers 4929-4938 in 1903, 5186-5188 in 1904, 5544-5548 in 1906, 5607-5611 in 1907. SACM works numbers were 6401-6415 in 1912.

Based on the Bavarian D-XII (Locobase 5931), the D32 (later T5 from 1906 to 1912) and ultimately T7, the class acted as shuttles between the Pfalzische (Palatinate State) stations and several rail hubs.

NB: German sources give the tube diameter as 45 mm, as shown in Locobase's specs, but also calculate the tube heating surface as 104.64 sq m (1,126 sq ft). The latter figure equates to an inside (fire side) tube diamter of 40 mm (1.57").

Only one was taken into the Deutsches Reichsbahn in 1923.
