These small Mogul tanks were built to run on the metre-gauge Schlossberg after that railway was rebuilt from the 750-mm gauge in 1917. The Schlossberg was renamed Pillenkallen in 1938.

After World War Two and the Soviet occupation of eastern Germany, 21 somehow came West to Neustadt, where she operated as 2700 until renumbered 99 241 in 1955, two years before her retirement. 23 stayed in the East and ran on the Spreewaldbahn until its retirement in 1970 and its adoption by the Bruchhausen-VilsenvAsendorf museum railway.

24-25 operated on the Weimar-Rastenberger Eisenbahn for a short time until being sent to the Soviet Union in 1946.
