Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class BR 99 4801 (Locobase 4929)

Described on the website home.snafu.de/zipkat/994802/994802.html (Dec 2001), supplemented by [link], last accessed 14 May 2011.

These little Consolidation tanks (works # 24367-24368) were used on the KJI beginning in 1938. Excessive wear on the pony truck led the KJI to remove it from the 99 4802. That experiment worsened the ride, leading to the truck's restoration in 1964. The little class's use on the KJI ended in 1965 (25 September) and the locomotives went into museum railroad service on the Rugenische Kleinbahn in 1996.

Its boiler received a general overhaul in 1993.
