Glasgow, Dumfries & Carlisle 0-4-2 Locomotives in Great_Britain

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 20943)

Data from E L Ahrons, "The Locomotives of the Glagow & South Western Railway", Locomotive Magazine, Volume XXVIII [28] (15 May 1922), p. 141.

Despite the wheel arrangement, which usually appeared on passenger engines, these were the "then latest standard type of heavy goods engine which had just been introduced by [Bury]." Riding on a bar frame, the boiler sported the recently developed raised firebox in place of Bury's classic haystack design.
