Consett Iron Company 0-6-0 Locomotives in Great_Britain

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class A (Locobase 4990)

According to the website [link] (North Tyneside Steam Railway Association), this was one of the last "Longboilers" to be ordered by any railroad. Because of their low speed requirements and tight curve radii, the short wheelbase of the Longboiler suited Consett's needs quite well. Indeed, deliveries continued for decades, the last entering service in 1941!.
