Data from Great Central Railway's website's listing of the museum road's locomotives -- [], accessed 22 December 2006.
The GCR site explains that this industrial tank was produced for the Central Electricity Generating Board to operate at one of its generating stations. After serving Brimsdown and Rye for 23 years, Zebedee was sold to Railway Vehicle Preservations Ltd (the predecessor to the GCR) in 1972. It ran on the Stour Valley Railway after a major overhaul. Several other museum railways -- Kent & East Sussex Railway and Bodmin and Wenford Railway -- have since operated the powerful locomotive.
