Data from tracing archived at [], last accessed 26 July 2015. (Thanks to Abjihit Gore for his 13 December 2024 email verifying the similarity of these locomotives to an earlier East Indian quintet shown in Locobase 21228.) Works numbers were 356-357 in 1853.
Just two dozen works numbers later than the five East Indian 0-4-2s (Locobase 21226) delivered a year earlier, the design offered the same specifications except for the narrower standard-gauge stance.
Given the production date and the customer, the two four-coupled with trailing axle engines may have gone to the Crimea to work on fortifications.
