Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 15 (Locobase 12376)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 22, p. 188. Works numbers were 17307-17311 in December 1899; 17326-17330, 17373-17377, 17399-17403 in January 1900.

This set of Moguls was identical to those sold to England's Great Northern Railway and described in Locobase 2656. They met with the same lukewarm reception as did the GNRs. According to one report, they were found to be "...coal, water and general maintenance" hogs and soon were withdrawn from service.
