Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class K (Locobase 20028)

Data from "North Staffordshire Railway", The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XVII (15 December 1911), p. 257; "Old and New Tank Locomotives, North Staffordshire Railway", Volume XVIII [18], No. 236 (15 April 1912), p. 69; and "Four-Coupled Tank, North Staffordshire Railway", Engineer, Volume CXIII [113] (22 March 1912), pp. 302 (diagram), 306 (description).

A septet of Atlantic passenger tanks with big Belpaire fireboxes and an unusually high superheater area, but a very small boiler for the cylinder volume. Its cylinders placed between inside created a very clean profile.
