Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class KAKAVOS (Locobase 3626)

Data from Wiener (1930). Works number was 906 in 1903.

One of smallest articulateds to be found in Locobase, this design used the Kitson-Meyer arrangement of both sets of drivers leading their cylinders under a common frame and boiler.

The industrial-locomotive website [link] (accessed 15 Jan 2006) has a listing of Barclay engines. This particular unit was owned by Glasgow-based James Howden & Co, which sent it to Limni in Greece in May 1903.
