Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 9 (Locobase 13625)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 27, p. 93. Works number was 24502 in July 1904.

Typical United Fruit Mogul for Guatemalan banana-plantation service.

NB: Locobase 14173 shows a later plantation Mogul that uses data from a later DeGolyer volume in which the heating surfaces are provided. All of the contributory dimensions including grate area, firebox dimensions, tube count, diameter and length are identical and are the foundation for Locobase's estimate for the present locomotive.
