United Fruit 2-6-2 Locomotives in Guatemala

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 10 (Locobase 12725)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 17, p. 242. Works number was 24811 in November 1904.

Axle loadings and gradients appear to have determined the adoption of five axles for this tank engine. The specs stress that total adhesion weight should not go higher than 33,000 lb and that ruling grades were 4%.
