Truxillo 2-6-0 Locomotives in Honduras

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 20 (Locobase 15061)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 66, p. 67. Works number was 56332-56335 in March 1923.

In the same month as Eddystone turned out an Eight-wheeler for this banana railway, it produced four oil-burning Moguls with smaller drivers, lower boiler pressure, a few more tubes, and a shorter wheelbase. Tractive effort rose by about 1/3 while the adhesion weight increased by about 25%.

See notes in Locobase 15060 on desired changes for both designs.
