Data from "New Locomotives for the Great Indian Peninsula Ry," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XII (14 July 1906), p. 114.
The GIPR adopted a growing fashion for light-traffic steam rail motor cars, acquiring the locomotive portion from Kerr Stuart and building the coach in the shops at Parel, Bombay. The coach provided a composite seating layout with first and third-class seats numbering 6 and 56, respectively. It was the only such vehicle procured by the GIPR.
