Great Indian Peninsula 0-6-0 Locomotives in India

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class L 21 (Locobase 20437)

Data from "Locomotives for the Bombay Port Trust," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XXI [21](15 March 1910), p. 53.

The LM report documented the transfer of four of the class to the Bombay Port Trust Railway as their 01-04. Locobase cannot say if the data shown above reflect the original deliveries or engines with later modifications. Although he suspects they were part of a larger class, he can't say how many engines it contained. The report said that the engine and tender together weighed 59 1/2 long tons (133,280 lb or 60,455 kg).

Class unknown (Locobase 16007)

Data from "New Locomotives for the Great Indian Peninsula Ry," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XVI (15 October 1910), p. 212.

The GIPR's English origins show up vividly in this nonet of six-coupled tender goods engines delivered in 1910.
