East Indian 0-6-4 Locomotives in India

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1121 (Locobase 6383)

Data from Vulcan Foundry catalogue, ca. 1920 ([link]); and "Bogie Tank Engine for the East Indian Railways", Vulcan Foundry Locomotive Catalogue, No. 6, found on Flicker's Historical Locomotive Images website at [link] (Many thanks to Jorge Cerezo Toledo for his 26 June 2021 email containing links to several sites including the Vulcan Catalogue referred to above.). Works numbers were 1955-1984 in 1904 and 1199-1208 in 1908.

The photo shows a stubby engine with a relatively small boiler. A later batch of ten (works 3095-3119) was delivered in 1915. These appear to have been built to the same design.
