Class WU (Locobase 2481)

Some data from "Indian locomotive class WU" in Wikiwand at [link], last accessed 14 May 2023. Works numbers were 4783-4786 in 1943.

These small tank engine used for local passenger traffic. Although the EIR ordered the quartet in 1940, the EIR didn't receive them until 1943. At the time, the railway planned to add to the class. As the railway looked ahead to predicted increases in traffic demand, however, they concluded that these engines were too small and chose not to order any more.
