Class A (Locobase 20312)

Data from "Tank Locomotive, Bombay Port Trust", Locomotive Magazine, Volume XX [20], (15 October 1914), p. 261.See also the Nasmyth Wilson production list at [],%20Gaskell%20and%20Company&nojs=1, last accessed 24 October 2017. These stocky Mogul tanks were designed by the Bombay Port Trust's consulting engineering firm John Wolfe Barry, Lyster & Partners of Westminster. The Trust would buy 30 locomotives of the same design from 1913-1922.

They were the principal type of locomotives used by this active port authority and remained in service into the 21st Century.
