Indian State 4-4-0 Locomotives in India

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Class O (Locobase 3042)

Data from E L Ahrons, The British Railway Locomotive, 1825-1925 (London: Locomotive Publishing Company, 1926).

Very similar to the 1880 Rajputana-Malwa design (including the Belpaire boiler), these engines differed from those engines in having outside cylinders. Dubs, Neilson, and Vulcan Foundry supplied "a very large number" of these engines to several railways in the Indian State system including the Bengal & Northwestern.
