Very similar to the 1880 Rajputana-Malwa design (including the Belpaire boiler), these engines differed from those engines in having outside cylinders. Dubs, Neilson, and Vulcan Foundry supplied "a very large number" of these engines to several railways in the Indian State system including the Bengal & Northwestern.
