Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class C (Locobase 20417)

Data from "Tender Locomotives for the Darjeeling Himalayan Ry," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XXI [21] (15 January 1915), p. 3. See also "Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - An Overview" in the Indian Steam Pages at [link], last accessed 6 August 2018.

This pair of Pacifics was expressly ordered for the Limited service on the Siliguri- Kishanganj Branch. Fitted with boilers made of the "best Yorkshire iron plates", the engines had square-shouldered Belpaire fireboxes. Room for these and their ashpans was had by splaying the frames in the rear section.

Both were preserved for static display.
