Staatsspoorwegen 2-6-0 Locomotives in Indonesia

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class C11 (Locobase 4723)

Data from [link]

See Indra Krishnamurti at [link] for building dates and numbers both of predecessor railways and the Indonesian State Railways. In the rationalization of numbers for this class, a tidy group of C1101-C1141 covered a range beginning at 49 and reaching 148. All were Mogul tanks and all were Hartmann-built from 1879 to 1891.

Class C12 (Locobase 4724)

Data from dspace.dial.pipex.com/javatour/ambarawa/locos/C1206.htm, a site for the Ambarawa Railway Museum maintained by Rob Dickinson. Indra Krishnamurti, at [link] gives slightly different values, including a 12.05 sq ft grate area (converted from the metric) and 656 sq ft of heating surface (again, a conversion).

See Indra Krishnamurti at [link] for building dates and numbers both of predecessor railways and the Indonesian State Railways. State Railway numbering ran from C1201-C1243, but covered engines built over a period from 1893-1902. All came from Hartmann and may have totalled over 125 locomotives.
