Stubby von Borries-compound six-wheelers that operated as the standard express engines, especially in the summer between Belfast and Newcastle. They ran non-stop over the 37 1/2 miles "...in an hour or less."
The author of the above article commented on their "hansome[r] and well-proportioned appearance." One other -- 6 -- ran as a simple-expansion locomotive. See Locobase 10376.

After Beyer, Peacock delivered a trio of von Borries-compound 4-couple six-wheelers, the B & CDR took delivery of one more arranged as a simple-expansion locomotive.
