Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Class 1 (Locobase 2704)

Data from R M Livesey, "Rolling-Stock on the Principal Irish Narrow-Gauge Railways", Proceedings of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (London: IME, 1912), pp. 606-608; reproduced in Engineering, Volume 94, (2 August 1912), pp. 169-176, table on p. 175. See also "The Railways and Locomotives of the County Donegal Joint Committee", Locomotive Magazine, Volume XXV [25] (15 May 1919), pp. 66-68, 87-90.

Pioneer engines on the County Donegal. Names, works numbers, scrapping dates were: Alice (3023, 1926), Blanche (3012, 1909), and Lydia (3022, 1910). In the Proceedings, Livesy described several classes. He commented on these small tanks' durability, noting that after 31 years they were "still doing good work on branch lines" and were "still useful as a shunting engine."
