The RS bought several dozen of these 6-coupleds, which Locobase has broken into two entries only to show the enlarged boiler in Sottogruppo iii. six of the latter (RS 150-155) had boilers pressed to 10 bar (142 psi). Like the other sottogruppi, these were rated at 50 km/h (31 mph).
At the time of the Ferrovie dello Stato's takeover in 1905, Gruppo C was divided between Palermo and Catania in roughly even numbers.

Six sturdy six-coupleds with relatively tall drivers and large grates. Their speed rating was a useful 60 km/h ((37 mph), which suited them for mixed-traffic service given the overall operating conditions on the island.
At the time of the Ferrovie dello Stato's takeover in 1905, Palermo housed all six. By 1914, five remained in service.

Small 6-coupled tanks with the dome located ahead of the first axle but balanced by the firebox located behind the last driving axle. Everything points to a low-speed switcher and the rating was 40 km/h (25 mph).
At the time of the Ferrovie dello Stato's takeover in 1905, all were in service. They were divided among Messina (4), Catania (2), Caltanissetta (1), and Palermo (1).
