Strade Ferrate Centrale Toscana 2-4-0 Locomotives in Italy

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 131 (Locobase 6243)

Data from users.libero.it/allesandro.tuzza/fonti/sfr/1879sfrindice.htm (8 July 2004), an 1878 album of locomotives for the SFR reproduced by Allesandro Tuzza. (later cite: [link], Tavola 13.)

A year after SFR 121 was produced, Stephenson delivered two more (works 721-722) with the same cylinder and driver dimensions. The profile had changed, however, the dome now had a more rounded contour with a flat top, the sand box cylinder was just ahead and the firebox had only a slender (yet still tall) column for the safety valve. Power increased with higher boiler pressure.
