Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 142 (Locobase 13003)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 27, p. 265 and Volume 29, p. 173. Works numbers were 25692, 25708, 25718 In May 1905; 25795, 25807 in June; 28765, 28799-28803 in August 1906.

Sanyo's purchase of Vauclain compounds came at a time when most North American railroads were converting such engines to simple expansion. Undeterred the railway built another 12 in its Hyogo Works.
