FC de Hornos 2-6-0 Locomotives in Mexico

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Concepcion (Locobase 12666)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 25, p. 238. Works number was 21823 in March 1903.

The Ferrocarril de Hornos was a lightweight railroad and so were its tiny locomotives. Located in Coahuila State northwest of Vera Cruz, the FCdeH ran 51 km from the junctions with standard-gauge FC Internacional Mexicano at Hornos to Alamitos and the Hacienda de Hornos. The huge Hacienda grew grains and raised cattle. A four-km branch linked the Hornos to the Coahuila y Pacifico at Viesca.

See Locobase 12667 for the lilliputian-scaled 2-8-2.
