Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 16, p. 29. Works numbers were 10957 in June 1890 and 12875 in August 1892.
Clearly derived from the basic Baldwin narrow-gauge Consolidation supplied to several railroads, this pair of wood-burners repeated the dimensions of the 1888 Mexican National locomotive shown in Locobase 11658. 3 was named Zitacuaro.
The MR&M was rolled into the Mexicano in 1900; the MN was in turn nationalized in 1908. The 82 continued in service for a while, but is shown as retired sometime before 1930. 83 carried on a little longer before being retired in June 1936. It was not scrapped until 1952.
