Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Huajuapan de Leon (Locobase 12605)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 24, p. 222. Works numbers were 20370-20372 in April 1902..

Built to the same order as the two Oaxaca a Ejutla Consolidations shown in Locobase 12604, this trio went instead to another Oaxacan road, the T & H de L, which was also owned by Luis Garcia Teruel. The Mexican entrepreneur's plan to scale the Mixteca mountains was never fully realized. By 1910 he had laid 131 kilometres (81 mile) of line, but never could bridge the remaining 120-km ( 74.5-mile) distance to Huajuapan de Leon. In 1911, the railroad was renamed the San Marcos Huajuapan and in 1913 it passed into the hands of the Mexicano.

#2 was named Tepexi and #3 Acatlan and all three engines retained their numbers throughout their working lives.
